Globe, AZ is a small town, about 85 miles east of Phoenix off Hwy 60.

Founded in 1876, Globe still retains much of its original architecture and character. Miami, founded in 1907, sits just west of Globe on Hwy 60.

Both towns grew up around the mining industry. Miami is a very tiny town and picturesquely trashy; a lot of fun to photograph, but challenging.

Both towns have more wires strung around than a circus. In order to work with this, one must of necessity find a way to incorporate a myriad of electric and phone wires and poles into the design element, whenever they can't be avoided.

This pictorial chronicle of Globe and Miami, AZ contains some artwork which is just that: Art, developed from an item photographed in the Globe/Miami area. There are also photos included which admittedly are not very artistic, but the place or item photographed was of some historical significance, from another era which is quickly dissapearing.
